Søuld Wooden Frames are acoustic wall elements designed to improve acoustics while enhancing the character of a space, through form and tactility

WOODEN FRAMES — Designed as a sleek and effective acoustic solution, Wooden Frames feature integrated Søuld Acoustic Mats made from eelgrass, delivering the highest level of sound absorption – Acoustic Class A. The Wooden Frames are ideal for use in interiors such as offices, meeting rooms, hospitality spaces, and homes where both acoustic comfort and aesthetics are essential.

Rather than following traditional framing methods, the Wooden Frames feature upstanding oak profiles that create a subtle play of light and shadow, emphasizing the natural depth, texture and tactility of the eelgrass panel within. When mounted in series,  the design of the frame creates a continuous and defined shadow between the elements, ensuring a smooth and refined transition from panel to panel. 

The Wooden Frames are designed for disassembly, allowing for the design solution to easily be dismantled and repurposed in new interiors.  

Installing/sizes/production

Each Wooden Frame includes a matching French cleat for mounting, allowing for quick and seamless installation without visible fixings. 

The Wooden Frames are crafted from FSC-certified solid European oak and are available in two finishes: Oiled Oak and Dark Stained Oiled Oak - both complement the warm, earthy tones of the eelgrass. 

Available in two standard sizes: 500 × 1500 mm and 1000 × 1500 mm – the Wooden Frames can be installed individually or combined to create custom acoustic wall compositions tailored to any space.

Søuld Wooden Joints

A soft and porous acoustic design element.  Wooden Joints are a modular acoustic design element that offers a soft expression through honest materials and a mindful joint design system.

WOODEN JOINTS — Shying away from the traditional solid and smooth surfaces of typical acoustic panels, Wooden Joints offer a soft, calming aesthetic that invites touch and visual ease.  Developed as a flexible acoustic solution, the design features Søuld's Acoustic Mats and are assembled using exposed wooden joints - a subtle yet aesthetic design detail. Each set functions as a standalone acoustic element or can be installed in series to create a cohesive spatial rhythm across interiors.

The design focuses on the honest beauty and tactility of the soft eelgrass panels. There are no frames, moldings, or hidden fixings - the panels are left fully visible, softly curved by the tension of the beech fittings. The crafted joints are customized to interlock, and held in place with a single screw, creating consistent spacing between each tile, adding tightness and precision to the overall aesthetic.

Mounted in sequence, the Wooden Joints can be extended both horizontally and vertically - allowing for infinite configuration possibilities. Whether used in offices, meeting rooms, hospitality settings, or private homes, the Wooden Joints offer a tactile and visually calming acoustic solution.

Each box contains four tiles measuring 550 x 550 mm along with Wooden Joints in solid beech. Installation is simple and supports disassembly, making it suitable for changing needs in interior spaces.

Introducing Søuld Acoustic Divider -  a freestanding acoustic design element. The Acoustic Divider is multifunctional and buildable, making it ideal for spatial and acoustic shielding.

ACOUSTIC DIVIDERS — The Søuld Acoustic Divider is a freestanding acoustic design element ideal for spatial and acoustic shielding.

Whether used in offices, hospitality settings, or restaurants, the Acoustic Divider creates calm, tactile spaces while enhancing acoustic performance. Designed with integrated Søuld Acoustic Mats, the Acoustic Divider achieves the highest level of sound absorption, Acoustic Class A.

Each freestanding module offers double functionality: as a visual partition and as a pinboard, ideal for working environments where adaptability and usability are essential.

The Acoustic Divider is available in two module sizes – 500 x 1500 mm and 1000 x 1500 mm – and can be configured as individual freestanding elements with feet or as a connected folding wall system.

Designed without a front or back, the Acoustic Divider works as a true freestanding element that works from all angles. Made from natural and durable materials, including FSC-certified European oak, Søuld Acoustic Mats made of eelgrass, and a carefully curated selection of Danish-made textiles from Kjellerup Væveri, the Acoustic Divider is a tactile, three-dimensional piece that combines depth, color and function.

Each element is assembled using simple joinery and traditional materials. There are no complex fittings or hidden mechanisms – instead, the frame is connected using a custom-crafted wooden dowel, reinforcing the architectural honesty and material expression found throughout Søuld’s design language.

The textile panels at the base are inspired by high wall panels in classic Copenhagen apartments, paired with subtle divisions reminiscent of Japanese shoji screens. The handpicked color palette complements the dark, earthy tones of eelgrass, adding visual harmony to the system.

The system can be delivered either as a connected folding wall or as standalone elements with aluminum feet (sold separately). For assembly, the frames are connected using a round oak dowel.

Acoustic Fragments

Søuld Acoustic Fragments is a modular acoustic solution designed to create large, seamless acoustic surfaces. Acoustic Fragments combine a geometric and versatile design expression with easy, seamless installation and high acoustic performance. 

ACOUSTIC FRAGMENTS — Søuld introduces Søuld Acoustic Fragments - a product series designed to create large, seamless acoustic surfaces. Søuld Acoustic Fragments is a modular acoustic solution that combines a geometric and versatile design expression with easy, seamless installation and high acoustic performance. Consisting of acoustic tiles designed to be able to be rotated 90 degrees, the solution offers endless possibilities.

The design is driven by being able to create a large unbroken surface. Breaking the material down into smaller components frees it from a predetermined scale and allows the material to be suitable for small as well as large scale installations. The first design in the product series is Fragments No. 1. New designs and variations will be added, further expanding the range of possible design combinations and patterns.

Endless design possibilities
Søuld Acoustic Fragments is a modular acoustic solution that can be mounted on interior walls. Each module can be rotated 90 degrees or shifted horizontally to create a unique pattern. Installed in prolongment, the solution offers a three dimensional ornamentation that  ensures a high degree of dispersion and absorption of sound. 

The design is driven by the detail of the cutting of the material and the orientation of the material; a sharp groove and a soft rounding meet, creating a subtle transition from element to element. The rounded cuts enhance and highlight the tactility of eelgrass, while sharp bevels give the design a tightness. By rotating every 3rd component horizontally/vertically, a shadow effect appears, creating depth and contrast in the material.
