PROJECT DESCRIPTION — Built in 1975 by a local architect, Restaurant Rosenhøj is set on a hilltop at the edge of Krabbesholm Forest and reflects a clear 1970s vocabulary: straight lines, generous glass façades and a clean, restrained expression. In recent years, the building has been carefully refined to return to its original architectural clarity — modernised with respect for its history.
e glazing create strong visual contact with the surrounding landscape. At the same time, these qualities presented an acoustic challenge. When former carpets were replaced with wooden plank floors, reverberation increased, particularly during larger dinners and events. The aim was to introduce acoustic regulation that could unify the different zones of the restaurant while preserving the architectural integrity of the space. The solution was found in Søuld Acoustic Fragments.
Installed on the interior walls, the modular tiles form a cohesive surface that integrates naturally into the rhythm of the interior. Precise cuts and subtle shifts in orientation create depth and shadow, enhancing the tactile quality of eelgrass. The modular format also allows flexibility in an older building where walls and angles are not perfectly aligned.
Today, Acoustic Fragments contribute both functionally and aesthetically — creating a calmer atmosphere where conversations unfold comfortably, even during larger events.
