PROJECT DESCRIPTION — Mutebox develops flexible in-room meeting spaces designed to create calm, focused environments within open workplaces. The concept offers a compact and space-saving alternative to traditional meeting rooms — providing enclosure without permanent architectural intervention.
Designed, developed and produced in Denmark, Mutebox is guided by a commitment to minimising environmental impact. Recycled steel, Cradle to Cradle certified textiles and responsibly sourced wood form the core of each unit, supported by carefully selected local suppliers.
For the latest Mutebox, Søuld acoustic panels made from eelgrass are integrated on the exterior surfaces. The panels are processed with carved grooves that create a subtle play of shadow and light, adding depth and rhythm while highlighting the natural tactility of the material.
The integration introduces a biobased, carbon-binding element to the structure, softening its architectural expression and contributing to a balanced acoustic environment. The collaboration brings together two Danish manufacturers with a shared focus on craftsmanship, material responsibility and acoustic performance.
The result is a flexible meeting space where structure and softness meet — supporting concentration, connection and quiet within contemporary work environments.
