PROJECT DESCRIPTION — Set within the protected landscape of Vejle Ådal, this private residence took shape from a clear material conviction rather than a conventional architectural brief. From the very beginning, the ambition was to build with restraint and respect, allowing the house to belong to its surroundings rather than assert itself within them.
Developed in close collaboration with PAX architects, the project was guided by a conscious decision to minimise environmental impact. Biobased, responsibly chosen materials formed the foundation, paired with a deliberate prioritisation of quality over size. With a professional background in sustainability management, the client approached the project with both knowledge and clarity of values. Søulds acoustic panels were identified early in the process as a natural fit: a Danish material innovation addressing a real architectural challenge, where environmental responsibility and architectural integrity meet. Supporting local, thoughtful entrepreneurship was part of the decision, alongside Søuld’s ability to unite aesthetics, function, and material honesty.
The ceiling, clad with Søuld Acoustic Boards FR, plays a defining role in the interior architecture. Its presence informed both ceiling height and spatial proportions, ensuring a careful balance between openness, tactility, and acoustic comfort. Despite simple, hard surfaces and minimal furnishings, the rooms maintain a soft, controlled soundscape. The result is a home shaped by material choices as much as by form. A space where acoustics, architecture, and landscape coexist in quiet balance.
