PROJECT DESCRIPTION — Developed through a close collaboration between JJI and Søuld, Wooden Lamella brings together two Danish specialists in crafted wood and natural acoustics made from eelgrass.

JJI brings extensive expertise in crafted wooden lamella systems. Søuld contributes acoustic mats made from eelgrass, gently collected along Danish coastlines. Integrated behind the Wooden Lamella surface, the eelgrass enhances acoustic comfort while introducing a biogenic material into the construction.

Together, wood and eelgrass form a cohesive architectural system designed for large-scale applications. The solution achieves fire classification B-s1,d0 while delivering acoustic performance up to Class A and Class B, demonstrating that natural materials can meet stringent technical requirements.

Available in a wide range of wood types, finishes and configurations, Wooden Lamella offers flexibility across residential and commercial interiors. The result is a refined surface where acoustic comfort, tactile warmth and environmental responsibility are resolved within one integrated design.
