Gaijin
Restaurant

PROJECT DESCRIPTION — At Gaijin, a restaurant deeply rooted in the love for Japanese cuisine, Søuld’s Acoustic Mats are installed across the ceiling to create a calm and balanced dining atmosphere. Made from eelgrass gently collected in Denmark, the acoustic panels soften sound and enhance comfort, while adding a tactile, organic element to the space. The muted tones and natural texture of the material complement the restaurant’s understated aesthetic, reinforcing a sense of intimacy and ease.

By integrating Søuld’s acoustic panels as a visible part of the design, Gaijin brings nature into the interior — a quiet reminder of balance, craftsmanship, and sensory well-being.
